Easter 2012: Luna's First Easter!!

Easter was on Sunday, and boy was it a busy day! This whole past weekend was non-stop! But it was a good weekend. On Friday Andrew and I got married, Saturday we were running around all day preparing for Sunday, and Sunday was more running around. Here are some pictures of Luna from Sunday.

I really hate this picture of myself, but the story behind it is kind of cute, haha. Andrew and I took this picture randomly when we visited the LA Museum of Natural History last August. We didn’t realize until after we came home and were reviewing the photos that we were standing in front of the remains of a pregnant plesiosaur!

Bathing Baby

I have Luna's first REAL bath on video . . . .well the first few minutes of it anyway. And it is CRAZINESS!!! She was about a week old, all skinny and red still and that girl could SCREAM!!! She sounded like a kitty cat and scratched at us like one too! It made me sad to see her so upset and I was not looking forward to bath time after that. But the next bath, she didn't fuss as much and pretty soon she was only crying AFTER bath time, because she was upset that it was over.










Now, bath time is so much fun for all of us. We don't have special toys or anything for her, aside from a green rubber ducky, she just loves being in the water! When we first started bathing her, we had one of those foam PUJ bathtubs that went in the sink, which was so helpful! It made it a lot easier for me to bathe her by myself. Now that she's outgrown it we've been using some plastic tubs that are not exactly child friendly. They were handed down to me by a cousin who had a baby girl just a few months before I had Luna, so we can't really complain. Now we're just bathing her in the tub. I'm so glad she enjoys bath time, it makes it enjoyable for me too!

Luna's Six Month Birthday

Luna's six month birthday was two Mondays ago, on March 19th. We decided the day before to do something special, we were just going have a small get together at Andrew's parents' house. We would just order pizza and dress her up cute and take lots of pictures. It couldn't go wrong, right?

It did. We called for the pizza right after we got there and waited over an hour. When Andrew finally called to find out about what the hold up was, he was told that our order had never been received. We were VERY hungry and VERY grumpy, so we wound up just going to Starbucks and buying McDonald's. It was cold outside, and I had wanted to take photos of our little lady in her cute sailor dress, but I didn't want her to get sick. So we wound up just taking her pictures in the house. Not what we had planned, but it was memorable, and we wound up getting comped a free pizza from Papa John's!

The crown idea was inspired by a crown that Katie of Skunkboy Creatures made for her daughter for her first birthday! I fashioned the crown out of a toilet paper roll, hot glued it to some yellow felt and then glued it to some gold ribbon. Pretty simple, and not built to last, haha! It was just for pictures, and it served its purpose. The dress was a gift from my Grandma Pauline at one of my baby showers. I absolutely ADORE it, she got it at this super posh baby boutique in Tustin called The Duck Pond. More on that in another post!

Luna Belle Garcia: Day 1 and Today

Well, I am SUPER behind on posting. I kind of felt like I should just give up on this Blogspot, but giving up's for quitters.

Luna was born on September 19, 2011 (one day before my 22nd birthday) at 8:23 p.m. She was 5 lbs. 14 oz. and 19 cm long. I can't believe I remember this stuff off the top of my head! I will do a "birth story" post sooner or later.

She's now 4 months old, almost 5. She loves to talk (coo and that type of thing), can roll onto her back from her tummy and is mastering the dexterous arts. She loves music and taking baths. Kicking her legs is one of her favorite things to do.

I don't have internet at home right now, and that's where most of my infant photos of her are.

I'm so excited for what's to come. She's the sweetest girl and I love her so much!

We went to the pool this weekend with Andrew's friend John. He asked me to take photos for him with a disposable camera. These are the results.
